Becoming Oxfordian

A Short Video Invitation

We’re pleased to continue Becoming Oxfordian — a short video series sharing the many different paths that lead people on their Oxfordian journey.

For our latest instalment, we’re delighted to feature Katherine De Vere, who shares her own journey into the authorship question.

Katherine De Vere lives by the sea, ‘neath Australia’s sunburnt sky; however, she oft embarks upon perilous voyages to vex her British kin.
A mother of two cherubic progeny, she regrettably forsook the glittering courts of journalism to wrestle with family life and the daily tempest of high-school teaching.

Her pen has disgraced pages both in the UK and Australia – even producing a best-selling memoir. Now she toils part-time, devoted to Art, writing, law and sundry lifely pursuits.

Take Part: Share Your Own Becoming Oxfordian Story

We’re inviting subscribers to submit their own short videos (around 2–3 minutes) introducing themselves and sharing how they became Oxfordian. Was there a particular moment, argument, or discovery that persuaded you? Or was it something that unfolded gradually over time? There’s no single right story here, what matters is your own experience.

All submitted videos will be shared on the DVS Substack channel, Shakespeare Identified, and over the coming weeks we’ll feature a selection to reflect the range of voices and perspectives within the Oxfordian community.

As a thank you for taking part, all eligible entries will be considered for a prize:
a complimentary limited edition Great Oxford box set (value £90),
with the winning video selected by the DVS Board.

Videos can be recorded simply on your phone — no professional equipment or editing required. The content matters far more than production quality.

Closing date for entries: 30 April
Please send video submissions, or any questions, to:
substack@deveresociety.co.uk

We very much hope you’ll consider taking part and sharing your journey. Becoming Oxfordian is an opportunity to reflect, to be heard, and to encourage others who may be at the beginning of their own exploration.
